Why we love her: Miller’s designs incorporate her love of her native Chicago — influences include the city’s renowned architecture — and a passionate commitment to the land beyond this concrete jungle. Suppliers of her organic and eco-friendly fabrics are thoroughly vetted, and Miller hand-draws her patterns on scrap paper to create less waste. Not to mention that her pieces are infinitely wearable … like, really. Lara Miller designs are to be interpreted by the wearer, whatever suits her fancy.

Why we love them: Chef Marianne knocked our socks off with her clever and satisfyingly soulful cuisine at In Fine Spirits (r.i.p. marinated brussels and cauliflower). This character has carried through to her latest venture in partnership with her husband: a well-edited collection of jams, mustards, and other preserved foods crafted with love and a sense of humor.

Products: Mustard, bar cherries, fruit preserves, and a special tea blend, all made from farm-sourced ingredients and packaged perfectly. Oh, and don’t forget the complimentary music download to rock out in the kitchen.

Why we love him:  Hands down Cheese Dream serves up the best grilled cheese around!  Ceresnie modernizes this all American classic, topping it with choices like tomato slices, ham, or bacon and some great pickles on the side.

MAMA’S NUTS

Founders: Adrienne Lo (one half of the dynamic duo behind another Dose Market favorite, X-marx)

Why we love them: Not content to rely on bottled versions, the vanilla extract used in Mama’s Nuts’ sweet offerings is made in-house using small-batch bourbon and Madagascar and Tahitian vanilla beans from their past Dose partner in crime, Rare Tea Cellar.

Products: Ridiculously addictive sweet nut brittles and spiced almonds and peanuts.
