Speaking of spritzers, Chicago’s reigning cocktail queens, the fine women of Femme du Coupe, will debut the spring collection of Revae’s hand-crafted Le Sirop, a blueberry green tea syrup that’ll play nicely in their DOSE punch bowl. It’s Sunday — indulge! Cocktails are on us.

Zagat 30 Under 30

Zagat has named 30 of Chicago’s food industry rock stars — all under 30 — and it’s no surprise this standout list contains a handful of Dosers:

Adrienne Lo — Owner and General Manager, Fat Rice & Mama’s Nuts

As one-half of the palate-pleasing underground culinary duo X-Marx, Adrienne Lo has been Dosing since the very first Dose. And at September Dose 2011, she launched Mama’s Nuts with a bang. Now, not even 2 years later, Lo is at the helm of Fat Rice, serving up mouthwatering bowls of Euro-Asian comfort food in Logan Square.

Zagat 30 Under 30

Talya Strader — Retail and Operations Manager, Bow Truss

Bow Truss made their DOSE debut in July 2012 less than a month after opening their flagship roasting house on N. Broadway. Now, Strader and her team have opened a second location on Wells, which also plays host to a number of local businesses (many of them Dosers as well!) through their weekly pop-up markets.

Zagat 30 Under 30

Katie Wyer – Pastry Chef, Reno

Reno made their grand DOSE debut in February of this year and we’ve been hooked on Chef Katie’s Montreal-style bagels and daily whole grain bread (a.k.a bird seed bread) ever since.  If you haven’t been to Reno yet, we recommend going…like, right now.

Zagat 30 Under 30

Thai Dang — Executive Chef, Embeya

Chef Thai makes his DOSE debut next month on April 14 with green papaya culantro with housemade beef jerky, shrimp dumplings and plenty of other bites inspired by his Vietnamese upbringing and classic French training! Get a taste and meet Chef at DOSE, Sunday, April 14.

Congrats to all the honorees!

#dosesocial: who’s got your #?

#dosehearts

For the first time, we decided to play a semi-official social game (what we’ve been calling #dosesocial around HQ) at the February 10 DOSE … and it was fun.

Four hundred pink heart stickers, each with a unique number, found themselves on Dosers and DOSE-goers at River East on Sunday. About a third of our guests were in on this social game fueled by Twitter . These were the instructions:

1. Grab a heart sticker when you enter DOSE. Affix it to yourself.

2. Get into the game. See someone you like? Tweet their number along with the #dosehearts hashtag.

3. Follow the #dosehearts conversation on Twitter and see what happens!

Happiest accident: all the singles at DOSE got to see who they were working with by way of a bright pink sticker.

This, we think, was definitely a win. Thanks for playing and we’ll definitely play again!

The sweet scents of Forget Me Knodt‘s stunning florals, Tru Blooms perfume and tatine candles had us all at first sniff.

There’s no match quite like Ludwig Farmstead Creamery‘s Vermillion River Blue + an Eclair Bakery baguette.

Admit it, you’ve got a crush on City of Win too. [Crushes sometimes make us shy but #dosehearts was there to bring us together.]

Bang Bang Pie made a grand DOSE return (it was Valentine’s DOSE last year our lips first met their to-die-for pies) and served up pigs in blankets and buttery, flaky handpies.

We won’t be able to do long distance with Detroit-based DROUGHT for long — we dream of a fridge chock-full of apple lemon ginger.

Wagyu Wagon served up the finest short rib sandwich this side of the moon and endgrain dished out a first taste of their new menu, leaving us begging for more and anxiously anticipating the opening of their Roscoe Village resto.
