In with a POP!
While we’ve still got a few more days to make it official, we bid adieu to cabin fever and welcomed Spring in style as our March 10 Dosers gave us plenty of ways to embrace the equinox:

Vintage Vine kept the Bloody Mary’s flowing all day long.

Rare Bird Preserves sold out of her salt & pepper shortbread and limited edition CKT orange maple Blis curd.

Lots of deliberation about what to buy at DOSE because everything is that good.

So, we spied lots of happy DOSE-goers.

And our favorite Coyote slinging all kinds of Labrabbit Optics specs and shades.

Shamrock shakes from Homer’s Gourmet Ice Cream really put a pep in our DOSE pops!

a tavola took over on the platform with their pop-up restaurant and debuted their take-home gnocchi.

Legacy Frameworks rocked out new rides for spring, showcasing their custom, made-in-Chicago bikes.

We spied happy florals and big smiles shopping the table at Shop 1021.

Stock Mfg. Co. surprised shoppers with a fresh batch of ties, pocket squares and well-fitted button downs.

And Roslyn delighted with new SS13 AZZA while Heaven Gallery took care of our vintage jewelry needs …

and rolled out a fresh collection inspired by Darwin.

Definitely stopped by truffle truffle for almond and berry POP tarts and then again for a few s’mores.

Loved this snack from Big Fork Brands: incredibly flavorful homemade sausage atop creamy mac ‘n cheese

… the perfect complement to a beer flight from Rolling Meadows Brewery.

Beau Hale Design made sure we were thinking design-forward upon springing forward.

And all the while Doodlebooth doodled.

More happy smiles, the norm on DOSE day!

After stocking up on Underground Meats‘ award-winning charcuterie,

we got our daily dairy allowance topped up at Traders Point Creamery.

How could amyone resist Zak Rose‘s made-on-site side tables? Just the POP of color we’d been craving. (PS: You can still order them!)

Oh, and we debuted DOSE h2o!

Plus, these too-cute custom DOSE pops from Vintage Confections were just begging to be popped in your mouth.

And everyone got to take home a little fun from the Gilt Photo Booth.

It was a fantastic day for getting a perfect DOSE of food and fashion …

made that more beautiful by the take-home blooms of Field & Florist.

KA-POW! Thanks for playing!
See you next month — your next DOSE is April 14!

#dosesocial: who’s got your #?

For the first time, we decided to play a semi-official social game (what we’ve been calling #dosesocial around HQ) at the February 10 DOSE … and it was fun.
Four hundred pink heart stickers, each with a unique number, found themselves on Dosers and DOSE-goers at River East on Sunday. About a third of our guests were in on this social game fueled by Twitter . These were the instructions:
1. Grab a heart sticker when you enter DOSE. Affix it to yourself.
2. Get into the game. See someone you like? Tweet their number along with the #dosehearts hashtag.
3. Follow the #dosehearts conversation on Twitter and see what happens!
Happiest accident: all the singles at DOSE got to see who they were working with by way of a bright pink sticker.
This, we think, was definitely a win. Thanks for playing and we’ll definitely play again!

The loveliest
This was a DOSE made with love + this is how #dosehearts you:

Coffee and cocktails by Dark Matter, Letherbee Distillers and Premiere Distillery kept the love tonic flowing.

The sweet scents of Forget Me Knodt‘s stunning florals, Tru Blooms perfume and tatine candles had us all at first sniff.

And we can’t stop, won’t stop, raving about the wood-fired bagels at Reno.

There’s no match quite like Ludwig Farmstead Creamery‘s Vermillion River Blue + an Eclair Bakery baguette.

Admit it, you’ve got a crush on City of Win too. [Crushes sometimes make us shy but #dosehearts was there to bring us together.]

Bang Bang Pie made a grand DOSE return (it was Valentine’s DOSE last year our lips first met their to-die-for pies) and served up pigs in blankets and buttery, flaky handpies.

A Muse brought out the inner artist in all of us.

Dallas Maynard made her DOSE debut and we’re simply smitten.

Knits & Knotts kept the gents lookin’ Valentine-fresh.

We won’t be able to do long distance with Detroit-based DROUGHT for long — we dream of a fridge chock-full of apple lemon ginger.

Hey there poems while you wait! The crew wrote #72 love notes just for you:

Liz McCarthy, Astr0-Matchmaker, read the stars and melted our hearts.

Precious moments at *play.

RFRM, Shades of Grey, Cities In Dust, Eskell and Samantha McIntosh really sparkled.

Wagyu Wagon served up the finest short rib sandwich this side of the moon and endgrain dished out a first taste of their new menu, leaving us begging for more and anxiously anticipating the opening of their Roscoe Village resto.

Smiles all around in The Traveling Photo Booth turned kissing booth.

These guys are serious about Love.

A DOSE of just what the doctor ordered (and with perfect prescriptions from Deborah Baker!)

Remember those sweet tunes at River East? Tune into the Lovely DOSE playlist here.
See you again March 10.
Spring ahead — we’ll see you soon!

We’ve got a heart on.
This DOSE is going to be so much fun, we had to share even more details. Along with the full lineup of 46 Dosers, you’re bound to get into all kinds of awesome this Sunday, 2/10, along with the potential for running into some lasting love. Be it in the form of a perfect purchase for you or your boo, Enoch’s doughnuts, free love punch from Letherbee Distillers or via our #dosehearts game or astro-match reading, there’s simply no better way to enjoy this Sunday! Herewith, the full lineup and lots more:

FOOD
Hello, endgrain! Enoch and Caleb Simpson’s new restaurant is just about ready to show off its inner beauty. Get in early with a delicious preview by digging into Enoch’s famous doughnuts (chocolate malt and cherry, anyone?) and salad and handpie selections from the new menu.
Love sick? Real Russian Premium Vodka‘s love tonic is quite the cure and — awesome! — on the house. Be sure to ask how this distillery was founded, it’s definitely a great love story.
There’s simply no resisting the buttery texture of antioxidant-rich d’Avo Avocado Oil. These mini bottles of pure avocado oil will certainly cause you to stray from other cooking oils.
A love that’s pure deserves 100% organic Ineeka loose leaf teas, crunchy twofold granola goodness, and a little spreadable somethin’ somethin’ from The Scrumptious Pantry.
Nothing compares to shortribs Waygu Wagon-style. Be prepared to go all the way with kimchi and sriracha sesame aioli… and to fall deeply into delicious, delicious love.
FASHION
Wear your heart on your sleeve and celebrate your hometown pride with City of Win‘s Chi-town inspired graphic T’s and sweatshirts. We are positively in love!
Put a ring [or necklace or cuff or studs] on your beloved. Cities In Dust, Samantha McIntosh Metals, Dallas Maynard & Shades of Grey are all debuting their new Spring 2013 collections. This is definitely the stuff that deserves a commitment.
There’s no getting lost in these eyes. Stand out in sexy specs from Aframes Eyewear as you do good and look great: 5% of each purchase goes directly to the Helen Keller foundation.
Engage in some inspired pillow talk with Deborah Baker’s one-of-a-kind needlepoint narratives for your bed and your head. It’s all in the sweet nothings, we say.
Don’t forget to commemorate the day with a photo (and perhaps a kiss!) in The Traveling Photo Booth. And hop on over to A Muse for some hands-on V-Day activities. Wink.
MORE FUN
Wanna *play? Bring your little lovies and check out the first-ever *play Logan Square pop-up shop at DOSE. They’re bringing all their favorite toys, games and books for fun you don’t really need to be a kid to enjoy. Good thing DOSE is always full of beautiful people. If you’re looking for love, grab a heart sticker when you enter DOSE on Sunday and get into the game. If you see someone you like, tweet them with their number and the #dosehearts hashtag and let love win. If you want to know if your new crush could be your lasting love, head over for a free, 5- to 10-minute reading from Astro-Matchmaker, Liz McCarthy. She’ll let you know if your love is meant to last or if your signs are destined for different paths.
Who’s got your number?
