Kishr
Doser: Kishr
Founder: Rowida Assalimy
Why we love her: Kishr is probably the oldest, most healthful drink you’ve never heard of — it has been drunk in Yemen for over 1,000 years. Assalimy was kind enough to bring her generations-old family recipe for Kishr tea to Chicago just in time for autumn. We’ll be drinking plenty of this warming, aromatic concoction as temperatures drop.
Products: Kishr, a tea made from the dried coffee cherry (the fruit that surrounds the coffee bean) and a blend of cardamom, cinnamon and ginger that’s reminiscent of chai, but with a strong cinnamon kick.

The October Dose
It seems that Dose days have a theme: rainfall in a steady stream
But due to elements unknown, each and every storm has blown
Past our market and the shoppers, away from our Chicago proper
Leaving everyone at ease — at the ready, ripe to seize
What’s on tap this lovely day. Follow as we lead the way…
Shortbread, scones and sticky buns, Floriole is so much fun.
Aside from merely looking cute, Buckshot Sonny’s brought the loot.
There is no better pick-me-up than Dark Matter coffee in your cup.
Division Street Watch Co. was on the clock, with leather bands and Rolex in stock.
Marshmallows, extract, bourbon sugar: sugar highs are de rigeur.
And hawking vintage by the river, Rainbow Vintage made us quiver.
Every market has its quirks; Dose is grateful for its Jerx.
Fur and sequins made us gawk as we scoured the racks at Chalk.
Pulling our heartstrings even deeper: the ethereal Samantha Sleeper.
Last but not least, our lovely guests. We never fail to be impressed.

A slice of serenity, we say, with the friendliest staff in the fashion game and absolute delights to be found on every hanger.
J’adore.
