Doser: ByMDesserts
Founder: Malika Ameen
A baker and a blender: Malika Ameen approaches pastry with the sensibility of a savory chef, infusing her components with spices and unexpected flavors that make for a sophisticated, nuanced result. Her cookies, granola and bars are more than just sweets, they’re compositions.
Love at first bite: We’ve been fans of Ameen’s pastry since we first tasted her desserts at Aigre Doux (now closed) in 2006. Homey but complex, laced with cardamom, lavender and the like, it was clear she had an inherent talent for flavor.
Products: Granola, cake and the best desserts on Earth!

Why we love her: Kingsley is down to Earth luxury, in her own words. Creating absolutely precious yet rugged bags and accessories out of exotic materials like vintage French linen and hand-colored python, Lisa spends several months out of the year in Central Mexico, working with local artisans to create her hand-crafted line. Her aim is for each piece to be infused with the spirit of the people who created it and shine a spotlight on the art of handcrafting. We adore her spirit.

Lillie’s Q
Doser: Lillie’s Q
Founder: Chef Charlie McKenna
Why we love him: McKenna’s recipes are tried and true — they’re all derived from family recipes passed down from his grandmother Lillie and his pit-master father, Quito, the namesakes for Lillie’s Q.
Products: McKenna’s line of spices and rubs, like the vinegary Carolina Gold and a smoke-tinged red sauce infused with “liquid smoke” (ie condensation collected from the restaurant’s smoker), that help you recreate the magic at home.
Spirit-driven: There are more than 40 all-American craft beers to be had at Lillie’s Q, including one designed especially for McKenna’s brand of barbecue by Chicago’s Metropolitan Brewing. But you’ll find the real spirit of the South in Lillie’s Q specialty moonshine-based cocktails like the “Morning Lillie,” a twist on the traditional Bloody Mary.
Dose appearances: July 10, August 14 and September 25.
