Why we love them: Even when this non-profit magazine was just a glint in publisher JC Gabel’s eye, we knew The Chicagoan was destined for great things (Dosette Heather was a contributor to the very first issue). With the fierce support of Chicagoans far and wide, Dose was delighted to be the launch spot for the highly praised — and completely sold out — first issue of this reconcepted 20th century magazine.
